No place like home

Greetings from Croatia! Is it New Year's Eve already? Time really does fly when you're busy... This has been an intense period in my life, but in a positive way. So many changes to come... We're currently spending the holidays in my homeland and I can't wait to post photos of my beloved hometown here on the blog... Have fun tonight, lads and lasses! Hope to see you all in 2013.

Welcome to Narnia

A post for dreamers. And maxi skirt lovers. While looking at the photographs, listen to this great contemporary version of the famous song: ♫ The Piano Guys - Carol of the Bells (for 12 cellos) ♫

A rare portrait

Portrait photography is not my thing and posing is definitely not my husband's thing. Yet, I really like this one. Maybe I'm just being subjective because I have a particular fondness for the person in the photo. Plus, I wanted to mention how extremely proud I was of him last weekend when he performed as a guest with his former band in front of a few thousand people. Like a boss.

Wish list | Christmas décor

I'll be home for Christmas, and that's all that matters. Saying that I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement. Hope you enjoy this magical time of year as much as I do. Oh, I forgot to include deer antlers (something like this ) into this wish list, but you get the picture. Actually, my dad has at least a dozen classic deer antlers collecting dust somewhere in the attic. There's a DIY job for me.   ♫ The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York ♫

Workspace inspiration

Just a little bit of midweek inspiration. I'll show you my own workspace in one of the future posts (along with some other details from my home). It's actually similar in style with the ones I chose for this post. Figures. Have a great day, everyone!

Action and Cut

Yesterday I started filming my first short movie, which means I actually got the chance to yell "action" for real. Ha! This project is my little hommage to film noir. Of course, everything is even more difficult than I imagined and planned, but I'm having fun doing it anyway. This is a gif I made from a few screenshots.

Punk chic

I know it sounds lame, but this is my "back to roots" outfit. I'm actually a rebellious little creature, only more diplomatic these days. (Hat and shorts are DIY.) ♫ Refused - New Noise ♫

Creamy fettuccine Alfredo

Ingredients: butter, cream, milk, Parmesan, Danish white cheese, grated Edam cheese (Oldenburg), ham roll (sliced into small cubes), fettuccine pasta, salt, mixed pepper and Provencal mixture of spices.
Tonight's dinner. I finally made the perfect fettuccine Alfredo, yay! Today is my favourite pagan holiday, but because of some deadlines I didn't have time to celebrate much this year... Ah, never mind, there's always next year. Happy Halloween, lads and lasses!

It's so fluffy

I'm talking about my new unbelievably soft jumper (Pull&Bear), of course. Other than that, my new photo equipment arrived from NYC few days ago and I still can't believe how remarkable and exquisite it is. What a refreshment! I also have a little announcement to make... The blog will get a new name (BELLS and FEATHERS) and domain next month, along with a small redesign. Hope you'll like it. Toodles!

Sofa lust

Finding the perfect sofa for your home isn't always an easy task. You have to consider durability,  quality of materials, ergonomics, aesthetics and maybe even sustainability. Here I have listed some of my favourite sofa designs. You may notice that most of these sofas are modular, which is a great characteristic. It gives you the freedom to easily transform your room according to your needs. Sure, most of us probably don't need a new sofa at the moment, but that's why it's called lusting. Having any of these babies in my home would bring a smile to my face. Every day. (Yes, I'm overly attached to objects.)
P.S. Although this post contains only high-priced designer pieces, I would be equally pleased with finding the perfect sofa on a flea market that I would later redecorate myself.

Tour de Macédoine

This is a small part of my cherished memories from the past 4 years of my life in Macedonia.  The reason I wanted to share these photos and dedicate a post to natural and cultural heritage of Macedonia is because my stay in this country is soon coming to an end. Although I can't say I've been particularly thrilled to live here in Skopje more than I originally planned to, there certainly was a lot of happy moments.  As you may have noticed, I have a tendency of capturing mostly beauty in my photographs, but that is how I like to see and remember things.  It's not that I'm ignoring bad things, it's just that I've always been drawn to aesthetics and prefer to express myself in that way. That is probably why I have a hard time living in such an insensitive environment. (I apologize in advance to all those who may find this insulting.) This may sound like a cliché, but I'll say it anyway because we obviously need to be reminded repeatedly... We live on this wonderful planet, and instead of enjoying ourselves, we preoccupy our minds with lousy politics, and that can only be harmful for our souls.  What I wish for citizens of this country is to finally learn to preserve what's left of its nature and culture, and try to make their own individual lives more fulfilled, instead of worrying for everyone else's business. We only live once, right? So rejoice!
P.S. I'm watching Felix Baumgartner's jump from the edge of space right now. Ain't life grand!
