Thessaloniki wanderings

Some photos from yesterday. I absolutely adore this city.  It's so vibrant, interesting and full of history. One of my favourite things about this place is that the air in the city center always smells like baked cookies.

Chicken and tomato pasta

Ingredients: chicken breasts, fresh tomatoes, farfalle (or spirali) pasta, onion, feta cheese, lemon, salt, mixed pepper, garlic, ground ginger, coriander seeds, basil.
I like to play with food and different recipes. This meal is the result of one of my experiments.  We liked it so much that it instantly became one of our favourite dishes.

Birthday girl

Since I already celebrated on Saturday, today was more casual. Just me and my significant other in a Mexican restaurant having enchiladas and burritos. (The food photo was taken with smartphone, which explains the poor quality.) It was a good day and I feel very grateful.

Old meets new

Jaffa apartment by Pitsou Kedem Architect, Tel Aviv, Israel. Everyone that follows interior design and architecture news has probably already seen this marvelous apartment, but I had to make a post about it because it's one of my all time favourites. The combination of  old stone left visible with modern furniture is just perfect.

A small celebration

Last night we organized a little get-together to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday. Of course, I didn't take as much photos as I planned because I was busy talking to people, but I did remember to take some after all. This was a lovely night - couple of big surprises, great gifts, some laughs and good music. What more could a person want?  ♫ Bebel Gilberto - Samba da Benção ♫

Royal blue jeans

One of my favourite colours. I wore this tonight for a small concert (part of the Skopje Summer program). Although I'm not a fan of these new buildings and sculptures around the city, I realized they can be used for photo shoots, and with the right composition, transformed into something completely different. It was already dark, hence the noise on the photos, but I/we will do better next time. Actually, I like noise sometimes. It gives the photos that analog/vintage feel.

It all begins here

August, 2010. Egypt. I fell in love with the Red Sea. I fell in love with the Sahara desert. I fell in love with the river Nile. And I look forward to the day when I will return to this magical country...
